It’s with great joy that I can announce the release of the book “Mast Cells United: A Holistic Approach to Mast Cell Activation Syndrome.” The book is now available on Amazon in paperback and kindle formats.

At 542 pages and referencing over 1200 academic articles, this book is the longest and most thorough resource on mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) to date. Topics include diagnostic considerations, coexisting conditions like Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and POTS, common root issues including viral/bacterial infections, mold illness and toxin overload, mainstream and natural treatment options, dietary considerations, strategies to foster holistic healing, and much more.

A great number of people helped facilitate this compilation of resources. Several experts were interviewed and many others corresponded with me in the process, granting me permission to use their quotations or information from their own books or publications. Specifically, I must thank:

Dr. Anthony Smith, Dr. Aviva Romm, Dr. Benoit Tano, Dr. Diana Driscoll, Dr. Gerhard Molderings, Dr. Gunnar Heuser, Heidi Turner, MS, RDN, Dr. Jill Carnahan; Dr. Joseph Pizzorno, Julie Rehmeyer, Dr. Lawrence Afrin, Lisa Klimas, Dr. Mariana Castells, Dr. Matthew Hamilton, Dr. Nichola McFadzean Ducharme, Rebecca Snow, Dr. Richard Horowitz, Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker, and Dr. Sharon Meglathery.

All in all, it took two years of work (approx. 2,100 hours) to put it together. Who knew that so much time and energy went into writing a book?! It has been such a tremendous learning experience and I’m so grateful for such a wonderful and supportive community.

I hope that this final product will be a useful tools for patients, families/caregivers, and medical providers interested in learning more about MCAS and the root issues that may contribute to chronic illness.

Cheers!

-Amber
